Tell me more about after care ....Paramo garments need looking after to maintain their waterproofing. Paramo was designed in partnership with Nikwax and this should be used to maintain performance.
Nikwax
Tech Wash is a highly effective cleaner. Additionally it will revitalise existing Durable Water Repellency (DWR) and revive breathability. It is the safe way to thoroughly clean your waterproof clothing and equipment.
Nikwax
TX.Direct Wash-In has been specifically designed and optimised for breathable waterproof garments; it leaves a flexible water repellent treatment on individual fibres allowing moisture vapour to pass through, maintaining breathability.
Tell me more about the 360° concept ....The textile industry generates about 92 million tonnes of waste annually, with only 10-15% recycled and huge amounts ending up in landfill.
Páramo garments are designed without glues, laminates, or taped seams, allowing for needle and thread repairs to prolong their life. By doing this, we are keeping the materials used in the garments at their highest value for as long as possible.
Once a garment has passed this point Páramo’s recycling scheme comes into play, it has been in place for over a decade now and allows customers to trade in old garments for discounts on new.
Paramo then use these old garments to make new ones. Where a mechanical recycling method would produce a lower quality output, Páramo is pursuing advanced chemical recycling practices which produce high-quality PET chip from old textiles. These chips maintain the quality of virgin materials, enabling the production of high-performance fabrics.
Currently, garment manufacturers predominantly use recycled materials from the packaging industry, such as bottle-based PET chip. However, as the packaging industry moves towards closing its own supply chain loop, the textile industry will need to find alternative sources for recycled materials. Chemical recycling offers a solution to this by converting used textiles back into high-quality raw materials. Paramo are leading the way in this arena and the 360° Aspira and Halkon demonstrate the feasibility of a closed-loop supply chain and the potential for industry-wide adoption. We are really proud to be able to stock the Aspira and Halkon at the beginning of this exciting journey.
